A Climate-Adapted Backyard
Green, playful and family-friendly backyard where rain gardens handle heavy rain and reduce local flooding
This backyard performs in a storm and on a sunny afternoon. Its rain gardens hold back heavy rain and let it soak into the soil preventing the pipes to clogg and reducing the neighbourhood´s risks of flooding.
The space is shared by 37 apartments, 25 of them large apartments with three bedrooms, thought for families. The yard has a green and playful space to share, bike parking and outdoor areas to sit.
